Greetings to all,
It
is with very mixed feelings that we report that our status with ICDI
has changed. Dave has submitted his (our) resignation to ICDI.
There are a variety of personal reasons for this, the main one
being that we are getting older. We find ourselves being drawn more
and more to local ministries, and less and less to traveling
overseas, although we will try to see Meg & family once or twice a
year in Capetown. That trip is considerably easier than the long
haul to Central Africa.
We
will continue to support ICDI with our prayers and our money. We
believe in ICDI’s main concept, empowering Africans to solve their
own problems, making disciples of Jesus as they go about helping
others with clean water, orphan care, setting up micro-enterprise
business and making Him known over shortwave radio broadcasting.
God
has opened up local preaching & teaching ministries for Dave, and a
new ministry for Jean that she can do on the computer. She will be
working with CE Booksellers, a group of Christian people who collect
used books wherever they can find them, warehouse them at the main
office in NC, and sell them on the internet. The profit goes toward
financing missionaries in closed countries like
China.
This decision did not come easily. Thanks for your prayers and
support to us through the years.
